Glen Cathey is re-elected to third term on the Board of Directors of Velocity Network Foundation
Congratulations to Glen Cathey, SVP Talent Advisory & Digital Strategy at Randstad, on his re-election to the Velocity Network Foundation (VNF) Board of Directors. This will be Glen’s third term on the Board of VNF.
With over 25 years of recruitment industry and leadership experience, Glen is a globally recognized sourcing and recruiting leader focused on digital strategy and innovation within human resources.
He is currently SVP, Talent Advisory & Digital Strategy, working on a team that provides strategic insights and consulting to organizations to enable them to create business-driven solutions and outcomes. Prior to this, he was Head of Digital Strategy for Randstad, focused on digital approaches and solutions to support talent acquisition, including responsible AI, AI-powered search, match, recommendation systems, AI screening & scheduling, blockchain, and multi-sided platforms. Glen has held other senior leadership roles such as SVP of Talent Acquisition Strategy and Innovation for Kforce, as well as VP, Sourcing and Recruiting CoE for Randstad Sourceright. In these roles, he led centralized recruiting teams supporting large clients including IT, Federal/government services, as well as other volume non-IT businesses, delivering results globally.
Glen has been working with the Velocity Network Foundation for over 4 years, initially serving as a proxy to Randstad’s original VNF board member, and he is now Randstad’s current board member for Velocity. He was instrumental in establishing Randstad as a node operator on the Velocity network, participates in various VNF committees including Product and Payment and Rewards, and has worked to evangelize Velocity – making connections within US healthcare, UK and AU education, and IN information technology. Glen is also currently an advisory board member for the Bellator Recruiting Academy, a non-profit that helps veterans transition into recruiting careers.
A highly requested keynote speaker on the topic of sourcing, recruiting, and the AI transformation of work, Glen has presented at many industry events around the world (10X LinkedIn Talent Connect, 10X SourceCon, 5X Talent42, 5X Sourcing Summit, etc.).
Glen graduated from the University of Maryland at College Park with a degree in psychology. He is based in Tampa, Florida with his significant other, Melanie, along with his newly expanded family.
Speaking of his election to the Board, Glen said:
“I’m excited to be once again voted to the board of the Velocity Network Foundation for 2026-2027! The case for a globally interoperable platform enabling digitally verifiable credentials has never been stronger given the increased use and capabilities of AI in the application, assessment, and interviewing processes, not to mention rising identity fraud in hiring. As more companies adopt a skills-based approach to hiring, employee development, and internal mobility, a trusted verification infrastructure is needed, and people should also be able to own their credentials when moving from one group or company to the next. There’s much important work ahead for the Foundation and I look forward to contributing!”
