Kymberly Lavigne-Hinkley joins the Board of Directors of Velocity Network Foundation
Congratulations to Kymberly Lavigne-Hinkley, Director of National Philanthropic Partnerships at Western Governors University, on her election to the Velocity Network Foundation Board of Directors.
At WGU, Kym leads efforts to connect philanthropic investment with transformative initiatives in higher education. With over 15 years of experience in the public and non-profit sectors, she has focused her career on workforce and economic development initiatives that support the connection between adult learners, career coaches, and employers.
Kym is especially passionate about advancing Learning and Employment Record (LER) initiatives, which include digital innovations that empower individuals to own and share verified representations of their skills, experiences, and achievements. She is equally committed to expanding access to work-based learning and developing public infrastructure that enables seamless data mobility across higher education, employer, individual, and public sector systems. Two projects she draws particular fulfillment from include launching a nationally scaled LER and digital wallet initiative at WGU – the WGU Achievement Wallet – and designing a fully online training program for public sector career coaches that emphasizes human-centered, skills-based, and equity-driven approaches to career development.
Her work highlights the critical role of collaboration in accelerating access to opportunity and shaping the future of skills-based education and employment. A natural problem solver, Kym approaches every challenge with curiosity, thoughtfulness, and a deep commitment to the public good and broader human benefit.
Speaking of her election to the Board, Kymberly said:
“I’m deeply honored to join the Board of Directors of the Velocity Network Foundation because its mission sits at the heart of where education, employment, and benefits to learners must meet. Velocity is helping to build the trust infrastructure needed to truly move towards skills-based systems, and I am excited to support this effort that has the potential to shape how talent is recognized and valued at scale. I hope to contribute a learner-centered perspective, grounded in real-world implementation and advance Velocity’s impact as a public-good network.”
Welcome Kym, we look forward to working with you to scale the Velocity trust infrastructure for the benefit of learners and organizations everywhere.
